About

Ubiquitous Music Incorporated (a 501 (c)(3) nonprofit), founded by Jack Brooks, is a music and guitar lessons service in Escondido, California.

Ubiquitous Music’s mission is to bring music education to students of all ages, including adults. We have created programs that teach students the essential elements of music while teaching them to work with others as they create a shared music product.

In schools we provide a team of highly trained musicians to instruct students thereby extending a school’s art education budget to include additional specialized music programs.

Currently our guitar program is finding the greatest success with students in middle school through high school. Classes of 25-30 students are taught 8 basic chord progressions which are the key harmony ingredients to hundreds of popular music compositions.

Classes allow students one-hour to one and one-half hour sessions to study rhythm, melodic improvisation, American music history and music notational reading. Students are encouraged to work together in smaller groups to create a performance 3 or 4 times per year for peers, parents and faculty. Students in the guitar program are evaluated individually through four proficiency mastering levels. Each level rewards the student with a certificate of merit and a merit pin.

In addition to the guitar program, our elementary school music program provides students with music education using their voices as the principle instrument. Students learn melody, harmony, timbre and rhythm as four principle ingredients of music. Together with American music history and the cultural influences that brought it to fruition, students learn to read music notation based on the Kodaly method of solfege singing.

Our home school band program brings band music education for flute, clarinet, trumpet, trombone, saxophone and snare drum to elementary, middle and high school students at California Center for the Arts Escondido.
